Mike Nesbitt joined the basketball staff in May 2017. Nesbitt spent the previous two seasons at the University of New Mexico, one year as a player and one as a Graduate Assistant. As a GA, his responsibilities included preparing scouting reports and film edits, organizing and leading group workouts, maintaining the recruiting database, and assisting in all aspects of on-court coaching.

In his senior season with the Lobos, Nesbitt appeared in five games. He made his debut in The Pit against Loyola-Chicago on Nov. 18, 2015. Nesbitt transferred in from Missouri S&T where he played three seasons for the Miners of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (NCAA Division II). For the Miners, he averaged 9.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in the 2014-15 season. 

Nesbitt started his prep career at Evansville Memorial High School, where he was a Second Team All-Area selection as a sophomore and First Team All-Conference award winner as a junior. He finished is high school career at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind.
