Biography

At SUU, 2011-12: Earned second-team all-Summit League honors and all-Summit League Tournament team honors. Led team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.1 points and 5.7 boards per game. Started every game, led or co-led team in rebounding 14 times and in scoring 11 times and blocked a team-high 22 shots. Led team in scoring at 16.2 ppg in Summit League games, scored in double-figures in 21 of the last 24 games. Scored 18 points with four rebounds, three assists and a steal vs. UC Davis. Narrowly missed a double-double vs. MSUB when he scored 11 (on 4-of-5 shooting) with nine rebounds, also had a block and an assist. Led team with 19 points and seven rebounds at Utah State, also had three assists and a steal in 36 minutes on the court. Scored a then-season-high 20 points, pulled down four rebounds, dished out an assist and had a steal in 35 minutes on the floor at ORU. Scored 12 points and dished out a team-best five assists and co-led team with five rebounds at Weber State, where he also had a block and a steal. Scored 16 points and led the team with seven rebounds at Troy, also had two assists and two blocks vs. the Trojans. Paced team with a career-high 26 points at South Dakota where he scored seven points, and had two steals in the final 10 minutes to spark the team's come-back from a 10-point deficit, then added a layup and a rebound in overtime. Scored 15 points, co-led team with four assists, pulled down six rebounds, blocked two shots and had a steal in playing all 40 minutes at UMKC. Led team with 25 points and pulled down eight rebounds with a block and a steal vs. SDSU. Had 19 points, four assists, a team-high four blocks (his personal-high and the team's season-high) as well as seven rebounds to co-lead the team at IUPUI where he scored four of the team's final eight points, on a layup and two free throws, to help preserve the win. Hit 6-of-9 shots and his only 3-point attempt at WIU where he scored 13 points with six rebounds and two assists. Led team with 18 points and nine rebounds (tying his then-career high) vs. IPFW, also had a block and a steal while playing all 40 minutes. Posted his first career double-double with a career-high 10 rebounds and 13 points vs. UMKC, also had an assist and a block, played all 40 minutes. Hit two free throws with 13 seconds to go to give SUU a one-point lead it never relinquished against South Dakota; co-led team with eight rebounds, also had 15 points, two blocks and two steals against the Coyotes. Led team in scoring with 22 points and in rebounds with a career-high 12 against Western Illinois when he hit 8-of-11 shots and 6-of-7 free throws; also had three assists and a steal. Scored 14 points - including the team's only field goal in overtime - and pulled down five rebounds at Oakland, also had an assist and a steal. Led team with 22 points vs. Oral Roberts, also pulled down five boards, blocked a shot and dished out an assist. Tied his career-high with 26 points in the Summit League semifinal win vs. Oakland, including the game winner in the lane with 12.7 seconds to go; also paced team with nine rebounds,  and blocked a shot, hit 10-of-16 field goal attempts. Suffered a sprained ankle early in the Summit semi-final loss to South Dakota State, scored two points with a rebound and a block in four minutes on the floor.


At SUU, 2010-11: Started the last 15 games and was one of the team's most consistent players. Finished the season by scoring in double figures six straight times. Led the team in scoring at 10.1 ppg, was second in rebounding with 3.7 boards per game and was tied for second on the team in field goal percentage at .549. Had a three-game stretch (vs. SDSU, UMKC and Oral Roberts) when he averaged 19.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Sat out fall semester because of issues with the NCAA's progress toward degree requirements. Led or co-led team in scoring three times, including in The Summit League tournament, where he finished with a career-high 24 points vs Oakland. Also led the T-Birds in rebounds and assists three times and in blocks five times. Tied his career-high with four assists vs. Oakland, also scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds vs. the Grizzlies. Scored in double-figures for the fourth straight game when he finished with 15 vs IPFW, also blocked a career-high four shots and had five rebounds. Scored a team-high 15 points at Western Illinois, hitting 4-of-5 shots and 7-of-8 free throws, also had four rebounds and dished out a pair of assists. Was the only starter in double-figures at IUPUI , where he scored 14 points with four boards, two assists and a block. Scored 10 points and pulled down four rebounds vs. ORU Had two blocks for the second straight game vs. CSUB, also had three assists, five boards and eight points with a steal. Led team with five rebounds and two blocks at SDSU, where he scored 12 points to get back into double-figures for the first time in five games. Scored 17 points, pulled down seven rebounds and tied his career-high with four assists at UMKC. Posted career scoring, rebounding and assists highs vs. SDSU when he came off the bench for 19 points, eight rebounds and two assists; hit 7-of-12 shots and had five offensive boards in the game. Scored a then-season-high eight points, also dished out two assists and blocked a shot vs. NDSU.

At SUU, 2009-10: Walked on to the team and earned a spot in the playing rotation, appeared in 21 games with four starts. Finished the season sixth on the team's scoring list at 4.0 ppg, and fifth in rebounding, with 3.0 caroms per game, and tied for second in offensive rebounds with 1.3 rpg. Led or co-led team in steals four times, in blocks twice and assists once. Saw limited action through the first third of the season but got into the rotation at Weber State and played significant minutes in most of the remaining games. Got the first start of his career at IPFW, responded with seven rebounds, four points and two steals. Posted then-career-highs for minutes (22), points (six) and rebounds (five) vs. UNLV. Came off the bench for 27 minutes at UMKC where he dished out a then-career-best three assists and pulled down five rebounds. Played a career-high 28 minutes vs. North Dakota State, scored nine points and pulled down a career-best eight boards. Led the team with a career-best four assists and scored six points with two rebounds in 13 minutes at North Dakota State. Hit all five of his shots and all three of his free throws vs. Oakland for a career-high 13 points, also had two rebounds, an assist and a steal in 25 minutes on the court. Had five rebounds and three assists but didn't score vs. IPFW. Started at IUPUI, scored five points, with four boards, two assists, a steal and the team's only block. Was back in the starting lineup vs. ORU, finished with two points and five rebounds.

At Davis High School: Earned Utah’s 5A Most Valuable Player honors in 2008 after leading the Darts to a 20-0 regular-season record and their third consecutive region championship. Helped lead DHS to the semi-finals of the state tournament where they lost in overtime to eventual state champ Lone Peak by a 57-55 margin. Averaged 18 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assist and 1.8 blocks per game his senior season for Coach Jay Welk. In addition to his 5A MVP honors he was also all-area MVP and earned first-team all-region recognition.
