Biography

 

2009-10 Highlights: Started 21 games and played in all 29, playing both point guard and on the wing. Finished the season second on the team in scoring with an 8.4 ppg average, led the team in assists with 2.9 per game and in steals with 1.4, was also fourth in rebounding, at 3.2 rpg. Led or co-led the team in scoring three times, in rebounds five times, in assists 14 times and in steals 11 times. Sparked the team to its first win of the season with eight straight points to open the game and eight straight to open the second half against McNeese State; finished with a career-high 29 points and eight rebounds vs. the Cowboys. Dished out a career-high seven assists with 13 points, a rebound and three steals vs. U. of the Southwest. Scored 12 points with four rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block vs. Tennessee Tech before fouling out. Scored 20 points, pulled down a career-high nine rebounds, dished out three assists and had five steals at Centenary. Was team's second-leading scorer with 13 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds at Weber State where he was 5-of-5 from the line and had two assists and two steals before fouling out in 29 minutes. Paced team with seven assists and seven rebounds against UC Riverside. Had a team-high four assists at UMKC, also scored seven points. Had five assists, five rebounds and five points with a block vs. NDSU. Scored eight points vs. IUPUI, his best total since he had 13 at Weber State, also had three assists and two steals in 21 minutes. Paced team with five assists, also had 11 points, four rebounds and two steals vs. ORU. Scored 20 points with six assists, six rebounds and two steals against IPFW. Led the team with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists and co-led the team with two steals at home against Oakland. Scored 12 points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals in the season-finale' against Centenary.

 

2008-09 Highlights: Started the final eight games of the season, including the two tournament contests. Ranked fifth on the team with 5.8 points per game, was third in steals (0.9 per game), and fourth in both assists (1.6 apg) and rebounds (2.8 rpg). Averaged 7.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in league games. Hit a big 3-pointer as the shot clock was winding down late in the game and hit the two free throws to ice the upset victory at NDSU; finished with 11 points, a career-high six assists, three rebounds and a steal. Grabbed a career-best six rebounds vs. IUPUI. Got the first start of his SUU career at Centenary. Had arguably his best game vs. South Dakota State in the Centrum when he scored a career-high 21 points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime and 10 points during a 16-5 SUU second half run that overcame a 10-point deficit and gave the team its first lead of the second half; hit 8-of-11 shots and all four of his free throws, also had two rebounds, an assist and a steal vs. the ‘Jacks. Hit a 3-pointer early in the second half at UMKC to put the Thunderbirds in the lead for good. Scored a then-career-best 14 points vs. IPFW on 5-of-6 shooting. Picked off a team-best four steals in the opener vs. Mesa State.

At Grandview High School: Earned first-team all-state and all-region honors his senior season, when he helped lead the Wolves to their second Colorado Final-Four appearance of his high school career. Helped the team to the championship of the Tournament of Champions. Was also an all-tournament team first-team selection as well as MVP of “The Show” Colorado all-star game. Averaged 17.3 points, four rebounds, 6.3 assists and nearly four steals a game during his senior season. Originally signed with Colorado State out of high school but opted for the Thunderbirds after serving an LDS church mission.
