Coach Reid on Joel: “Like all of our freshmen, Joel also had an outstanding high school career. It’s really nice to have a local player make our basketball team. He’s a very smart player, he’s extremely coachable and he’s a good shooter. He will have the ability to understand what we want on the floor as a point guard and to run the offense. When you’re his size though, you have to be tenacious on defense, and that’s something he will have to work on.”
