Austin Halligan was named Assistant Sports Performance Coach for Southern Utah in June of 2022 after spending a year as an Athletic Performance Graduate Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. In his current position, Halligan works with SUU’s Men's Basketball and Softball teams, in addition to Track & Field throwers.
While at Wisconsin-River Falls, Halligan primarily worked with the Falcons’ Women’s Soccer, Women’s Golf, and Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams, while assisting with Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Hockey, and Volleyball.
Prior to joining the staff at Wisconsin-River Falls, Halligan spent seven months working for the Fort Dodge Senior High School District as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. While in that position, he assisted in building a strength and conditioning program by developing training programs for both in-season and off-season athletes.
Halligan also worked a three-month internship in the MLB with the Arizona Diamondbacks as a Sports Medicine and Performance Team Intern. During his time with the Diamondbacks, he worked to develop warmups and training programs for Arizona’s pitchers and position players.
Halligan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Iowa State University and a Master’s of Science in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He also got his Strength & Conditioning Certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association and a USA-Weightlifting Level 1 Certification from USA Weightlifting.
