Dexter Humphreys has a strong background in academic advising and student support, developed through various roles before joining Southern Utah Athletics. At Southern Utah University, he served as the TRiO Student Support Services Intake Coordinator from 2020 to 2023, where he assisted first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. He managed the intake process for a cohort of 160 students, maintained grant documentation, and coordinated workshops on topics like educational success, financial literacy, and life skills.
Before that, Dexter worked as a Financial Aid Campus Coordinator at Arizona State University (2018-2020), where he provided guidance on financial aid, eligibility, and FAFSA verification, helping students navigate complex financial processes. He also coordinated FAFSA outreach events and advised incoming freshmen and high school students on college readiness. His role in academic support began at Dixie State University, where he was a Financial Aid Advisor and Work-Study Coordinator (2015-2017), managing work-study programs and conducting outreach events to inform students about financial aid opportunities.
Throughout his academic advising career, Dexter has demonstrated a passion for helping students succeed academically and personally by offering tailored support and resources.
