Southern Utah University Athletics

Astley Davis, a senior at Southern Utah University, had impressive performances during the 2023 outdoor and indoor track and field seasons. Davis transferred to Southern Utah after spending his first two seasons at the University of Mary.

2024 Indoors:

• Lumberjack Team Challenge
  • Placed second in the long jump with a 24'-03.75"
  • Placed first in the triple jump with a 50'-10.00", a new school record
• Stacy Dragila Invitational
  • Improved the triple jump school record with a 53'05.00", third in the NCAA
• Husky Classic
  • Finished the long jump with a distance of 23'05.50"
  • Placed fifth in the triple jump with a 51'02.75"
• WAC Championships
  • Placed second in the long jump with a distance of 24'03.75"
  • Placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 52'06.75"
• NCAA Nationals
  • Took 16th in the triple jump with a distance of 49'9", also became a Second-Team All-American.

2023 Outdoors:

• 100 Meters: Davis achieved a time of 10.79 seconds at the 2023 Utah Tech Invitational held on March 10-11, 2023.
• 4 x 100 Relay: Davis contributed to his team's achievement of a time of 42.15 seconds at the 2023 Utah Tech Invitational held on March 10-11, 2023.
• Long Jump: Davis achieved distances of 7.34m (1.1) at the 2023 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held on May 11-13, 2023, 7.15m (-0.3) at the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational held on April 13-15, 2023, and 7.24m (1.0) at the Pacific Coast Invitational 2023 held on April 13, 2023.
• Triple Jump: Davis achieved distances of 16.12m (0.2) at the 2023 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held on May 11-13, 2023, 15.82m (1.4) at the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational held on April 13-15, 2023, and 15.21m (2.9) at the Pacific Coast Invitational 2023 held on April 13, 2023.

2023 Indoors:

• 60 Meters: Davis achieved a time of 7.08 seconds at the 2023 BYU Cougar Indoor Invitational held on January 12-14, 2023.
• Long Jump: Davis achieved distances of 7.22m at the 2023 WAC Indoor Track and Field Championship held on February 24-25, 2023, 7.15m at the Whitworth Invitational (Indoor) held on February 10-11, 2023, and 7.20m at the Ron Mann Classic held on February 3-4, 2023.
• Triple Jump: Davis achieved a distance of 15.47m at the 2023 WAC Indoor Track and Field Championship held on February 24-25, 2023, and 15.39m at the Ron Mann Classic held on February 3-4, 2023.
