OUT 2009:  NCAA West Region qualifier in the men's discus and shot put ... recorded regional qualifying marks in the discus seven of the eight meets during the outdoor season ... Summit League MVP at the outdoor championships after claiming Summit League titles in the men's discus and shot put ... also scored in the men's hammer throw, finishing fourth.  IN 2009:  Competed in five meets during the indoor season ... Summit League champion in the men's shot put at the indoor conference championships ... also recorded points in the men's weight throw at the championships, finishing fifth.  2008 (OUT): Competed in nine meets during the outdoor season ... NCAA regional qualifier in the discus ... first-team all conference and Summit League champion in the discus with a mark of 174 feet two inches.  2008 (IN): Competed in five meets during the indoor season ... competed in the shot put and weight throw ... all-conference second team after finishing third in the shot put (49-2.25) at the indoor championships. 2007 (OUT): Mid-Continent Conference champion in the discus (173 feet 4 inches) ... NCAA regional qualifier in the discus ... also recorded a third-place finish at the conference championships in the shot put (49 feet 2.25 inches).  2007 (IN):  Did not compte. 2006 (OUT):  Missed the second half of the season due to injury ... recorded an NCAA regional qualifying mark in the discus with a 178-1 (#2 all-time at SUU) at BYU ... also ranked 10th all-time in school history in the hammer (143-8). 2006 (IN):  Earned second team all-conference honors by placing second overall in the shot put with a throw of 49-4, which ranked him seventh on SUU’s career top-10 list.

Prep:  Three-year letterwinner in track and field for the Soaring Eagle track program ... was the state 3A champion in the shot put and discus ... owns a shot put PR of 54-2 and a discus career-best mark of 176-10 ... was coached by former SUU assistant track and field coach Bish Dolegiewicz.

Personal:  Mother is Rosa Silva ... currently majoring in physical education.
