Prep: Prepped at Box Elder HS, competing in the 100-meter (11.2), 200-meter (23.1) and 400-meter dashes (50.1) ... placed first in the region in the 400-meters and second in the both the 100-meters and 200-meters ... placed fourth in the 400-meters at the state 4A championship as a junior and eighth as a senior ... named Most Valuable Athlete, Most Outstanding Junior and Most Improved athlete while at Box Elder, lettered twice in cross country and three times in track and field.

Personal: Parents are Luisa Cruz and Larry Cruz ... majoring in athletic training.
