Renae Koppenhafer is in her first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Southern Utah softball team.

Koppenhafer comes to Cedar City from Hampstead, North Carolina where she was the head coach for the junior varsity team at Topsail High School. During her time at Topsail she had multiple student-athletes recruited to various colleges such as University of North Carolina, Appalachian State University, Barton College, University of South Carolina Upstate, and more.

Koppenhafer played collegiate softball for Augusta State University from 2010-12 where started in 95 games in two seasons as the primary catcher for the Jaguars. She graduated from Augusta State in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology.

Before transferring to Augusta State, Koppenhafer played two seasons at North Idaho College for head coach Don Don Williams from 2008-10. While at NIC she was named to the NJCAA All-Region 18 First Team and the Region 18 All-Tournament team in 2009.

Koppenhafer is originally from Kennewick, Washington and has two children, Colt and Penelope.
