Biography
At the young age of three, Cortney started dancing and fell in love with the feeling. When she was nine years old, she began competing seriously at the highest level at her dance studio. By the age of twelve, Cortney was already teaching dance. She competed in studio dance for about five years and was a Stadium of Fire dancer for four of those years. Throughout her dance journey, Cortney has competed in solos and duets consistently since she began.
In high school, Cortney was the Jr. Drill Mistress for her drill team during her freshman year and then became the head Drill Mistress for the next three years, leading her team to a state championship in one of those years.
For the past two years, Cortney danced on the Snow College dance team, where she held the titles of choreography captain and head captain. She has taught kids how to tumble and dance at two different studios around Ephraim, choreographing solos and team routines for individuals and teams to perform over the last four years. Cortney is excited to continue her passion for dance with Southern Utah.
