Advit Raghavan enters his second season as an assistant coach at Southern Utah in 2026-27 and his fourth overall with the program, as the Thunderbirds return to the Big Sky Conference.
In his first season back in Cedar City in 2025-26, Raghavan helped Southern Utah overcome a unanimous last-place pick in the WAC preseason poll, finishing among the conference's top three teams with a 19-13 record and an 11-8 league mark. The Thunderbirds led the WAC in rebounding at 41.5 boards per game, paced by Ava Uhrich, who topped the conference with 9.9 rebounds per game on her way to All-WAC First Team honors. SUU also had the conference's two most efficient shooters, with Brooklyn Fely leading the WAC at 47.8 percent from the field and Uhrich ranking second at 46.7 percent. The Thunderbirds went 14-1 at home to tie the program record for home wins, beat every WAC opponent at least once, and reached the WNIT for the second time in program history.
Before his return, Raghavan served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Cal State Bakersfield in 2024-25. Working primarily with the wings, he helped multiple players finish in the conference's top 10 in several key categories, including 3-point percentage.
In 2023-24, Raghavan held the same role at Cal State Northridge, where he worked primarily with the post players and helped develop All-Big West post player Kayanna Spriggs.
Raghavan first joined the SUU program as director of basketball operations from 2021-23. In 2022-23, Southern Utah's first season in the Western Athletic Conference, he played an instrumental role in the Thunderbirds winning the WAC regular-season and tournament titles as the program made its first NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament appearance. In 2021-22, he helped the T-Birds finish second in the Big Sky Conference. During that stretch, Raghavan helped develop All-Conference guards Cherita Daugherty and Tomekia Whitman, 2023 WAC Defensive Player of the Year Lizzy Williamson, and WAC All-Tournament selection Megan Jensen.
Before his first stint at Southern Utah, Raghavan was an assistant coach at Pacific University (Ore.), where he helped engineer a complete program turnaround. In 2019-20, the team improved from 8 to 17 wins and made its first home Northwest Conference playoff appearance since 1996 and its first tournament appearance since 2009.
Raghavan began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the women's basketball team at Northern Arizona. A native of San Jose, Calif., he played four seasons of men's basketball at the University of Puget Sound.
