Coach Payne on Mary: “Mary is one of the most well-rounded and hardest working players that we have ever had the opportunity to recruit. Her work ethic and determination will be a tremendous asset to our program from the minute she steps on campus next fall. PREP: Received all-state honors in each of the past three years ... was a final candidate for the ESPN Gatorade State Girls Basketball Player of the Year following her junior season ... helped Colony High School to the Alaskan state semifinals and an overall third place finish in 2012 and 2013 ... named first team all-state by Juneau Empire.

PERSONAL: Parents are John and Joan Klapperich ... plans to study integrated engineering.
