Southern Utah University Athletics

Logan Petty is the newest addition to the Southern Utah Track & Field/Cross Country staff, joining as an assistant coach in 2022. Petty is a former Division I athlete, competing for Utah Valley University in both track & field and cross country.

During his time as an athlete at UVU, Petty earned All-Conference recognition eight different times throughout his career.

Upon graduation from UVU, Petty was added to the Wolverine track & field/cross country coaching staff, where he served as a volunteer assistant coach for four seasons. Petty also spent two years as a private online coach from 2019 to 2021.    

Petty has continued running after his collegiate career ended. He recently began training to compete in marathons.

Petty received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Utah Valley University in 2017, and he resides in Cedar City with his wife Mallory and child Paisley.
