Nigel Sharp began working as an assistant for SUU Track & Field/Cross Country coaching staff during the 2013-14 season.

Sharp joined the program as a distance runner in 2008 and raced to a top-three Southern Utah finish at each of the first five cross country meets of the season. He then raced to two Summit League titles, in the indoor 3,000-meter run and the outdoor 5,000-meters, during the 2009 season, and an NCAA West Region qualifying position in the 5,000-meters. Continuing as a student-athlete until his 2013 graduation, Sharp competed in cross country and each of the distance events in turn, including the mile and the 800-meter, 1,500-meter, 3,000-meter, 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs.

A native of Saskatchewan, Sharp graduated from Southern Utah with a bachelor's degree in history. He currently resides in Cedar City.
