Caleb Phillips is in his fourth year with the Thunderbird gymnastics squad.
An undergraduate student at SUU, Phillips spent several seasons coaching on the staff of Barefoot Gymnastics in St. George, Utah, prior to joining the Thunderbird staff.? He will graduate with a degree in physchology and a minor in communications in the spring of 2008.
His primary assignment is with vault.? Phillips has worked as a coach at the Lake Owen Gymnastics Camp for the past three summers.
Phillips is married to the former Ashley Gwilliam and they have two children: Cable (3) and Beck (6 months).
“Caleb is an excellent spotter who brings a great attitude to the gym,” SUU Coach Scott Bauman said. “Over the past couple of years he has learned a lot about the sport and what goes into spotting and coaching. He’s developed into an excellent young coach.”
