Ellie Cacciola joins the Southern Utah gymnastics staff after a decorated four-year career as a Flippin’ Bird, bringing extensive experience on vault, balance beam, and floor to her new role.
Cacciola was one of the top specialists in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation during her senior season in 2025, earning MPSF Specialist of the Year honors and All-MPSF First Team recognition on vault, beam and floor. She earned Specialist of the Week honors twice during the season and recorded career-best scores of 9.900 on both vault and beam while posting an incredible 9.925 career-high on floor. Her consistency on vault and beam helped lead Southern Utah's vault squad to a No. 21 national ranking.


During her junior season, Cacciola competed in every meet for the Flippin’ Birds and enjoyed one of the most memorable seasons of her career. She tied for the NCAA Regional vault title with a career-high 9.900 and recorded a 9.950 on balance beam twice, tying for the second-best beam score in program history and the highest beam score in MPSF history. She earned All-MPSF First Team honors on vault and beam, Second Team honors on floor and a spot on the MPSF All-Academic Team.


Cacciola also earned First Team All-MRGC honors on beam as a sophomore after posting a season-high 9.925 on the event. She competed for Elite Extreme at the club level before beginning her collegiate career at Southern Utah.


A native of Owasso, Oklahoma, Cacciola graduated from Southern Utah with degrees in biology and criminal justice.
