@^& At SUU, 2006: Started all 11 games at center, earned all-Great West Football Conference second-team recognition for his efforts. Also took over punting duties the final three games after Jordan Ortiz went down with a knee injury, averaged 37.5 ypp on 16 punts. At SUU, 2005: Began season as a tight end but moved to offensive tackle early in the season and won a starting spot, wound up earning all-Great West Football Conference honorable mention honors. Moved to center in the spring and earned the starting spot heading into the fall.

At Virginia Tech: Spent 2003 season as a redshirt.

Personal: Attended Hargrave Prep during the fall of 2002, helping Hargrave to a 9-1 record. Lettered two seasons as a tight end and outside linebacker at Pulaski County High, helping the team to a pair of district and regional titles. Caught nine passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns as a senior when he also contributed 52 tackles and an interception on defense. Also lettered three years in basketball. A member of the National Honor Society. Wife is Mallory, parents are Debbie and Kenneth Roan. Majoring in political science.
