Southern Utah University Athletics

Brantzen Blackner joined the Southern Utah Event and Operations staff in September of 2022 as the Director of Athletic Events. In his current role, he serves as the event manager for all of Southern Utah’s sports teams. 

Prior to joining the SUU Athletic Department, Blackner was a four-year college basketball player, competing for two years apiece at Snow College and Westminster College. During his time at Westminster, Blackner completed an internship with the athletic department, working directly under the Athletic Director. His primary responsibilities included assisting with ticketing and supervising all athletic events, as well as promoting athletic events around campus to increase attendance.

Blackner is excited to be back in his hometown of Cedar City and to be a part of SUU athletics. He loves the collegiate atmosphere and loves being involved with sporting events. He has a strong passion for athletics and is happy to be a Tbird.

Blackner holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Westminster College.
