Regan Hunsaker is originally from Green River, Wyoming, and has been involved in athletics his entire life. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Hunsaker chose to continue his athletic career by playing baseball at Utah State University Eastern.
Regan served an LDS mission in Torreon Mexico after which he returned to Price to finish his associate's degree. Hunsaker then came to Cedar City where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from SUUÂ and began a coaching career as an assistant baseball coach at Canyon View High School.
Following the completion of his degree Hunsaker joined the USU Eastern baseball coaching staff in 2013 working with catchers and outfielders. During this time he also finished a teaching license through UVU. While working for USU Eastern he took on many aspects of gameday management and statistics.
Regan and his wife Kristena then moved to Roosevelt, Utah where he began working at Union High School. While at Union, Hunsaker served as the head wrestling coach, assistant football coach, assistant baseball coach, and Spanish teacher. Following a passion for educational-based athletics Hunsaker completed a Masters's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration through Concordia University Irvine in 2019. Through this program, Hunsaker developed a new approach to sports information at Union High School improving fan engagement in the Uintah Basin.
Hunsaker and his family moved back to Cedar City in the summer of 2022 to take on a new role as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and Communications at Southern Utah University.
