Shon Spevak began his tenure at Southern Utah University in July of 2003. A seasoned member of the administrative staff, he’s held several positions and currently serves as Senior Associate AD for Revenue Generation and the department’s licensing & branding officer. In this role, he oversees all facets of ticket sales, marketing, trademark licensing, and digital media. He also serves as sport administrator for the gymnastics and cheer teams.
Spevak began his career at SUU overseeing the University’s central ticket office where he directed operations for all intercollegiate sports, live concerts, performing arts, Utah high school championships and numerous other events across campus.
Shon has been a key component in tremendous growth for Southern Utah Athletics. Since his arrival, total ticket revenue has increased over 325 percent. His vision of the fan base realizing the value of SUU athletic events has paid enormous dividends.
In 2012, Spevak helped usher in a new era of Southern Utah Athletics when the department joined the Big Sky Conference. As part of that move he successfully implemented the first-ever priority seating model at SUU, significantly raising annual giving funds and season tickets sales in the process. Variable ticket pricing was yet another boon to revenue that he brought to the table.
Since assuming his current role, Shon has been instrumental in increasing athletics’ exposure, brand reach, community engagement, and overall sales revenue year over year. He has served as a regional representative for the National Association of Athletic Ticket Sales & Operations (NAATSO) and actively works with the Collegiate Licensing Company managing the T-Bird brand.
Shon holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s degree in public administration from Southern Utah University. A native of Cedar City, he and his wife Trisha have three children.
