Tamia Braggs enters her second season as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations at Southern Utah in 2026-27, as the Thunderbirds return to the Big Sky Conference.
In her first season on staff in 2025-26, Braggs helped run the day-to-day operations of a Southern Utah team that outperformed its last-place preseason projection to finish in the WAC's top three at 19-13 overall and 11-8 in conference play. The Thunderbirds matched the program record with 14 home wins, dropping only one game at the America First Event Center: an overtime decision against WAC champion California Baptist. SUU closed its final WAC season with the second WNIT appearance in program history and four All-WAC selections.
Before joining the staff full-time, Braggs spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Academy of Art University, where she mentored student-athletes on and off the court while leading the program's community outreach and marketing efforts.
Braggs first came to Cedar City as a graduate assistant for Southern Utah women's basketball while completing her master's degree. In that role, she produced digital content for the program's social media platforms, created video highlights, and assisted with game-day operations, laying the foundation for her return to SUU.
A graduate of Santa Clara University, Braggs earned her bachelor's degree in Media and Marketing Relations before completing her master's degree at Southern Utah University.
Braggs brings a dynamic blend of coaching experience, operational leadership, and creative media skills to SUU, where she plays a key role in the continued growth of the Thunderbird women's basketball program.
