Annie Stephens

Annie (Stradling) Stephens enters her fifth year as assistant coach of the Southern Utah University women's volleyball team. This will be her second season under coach Peter Hoyer after being a part of the previous staff from 2015-2017.

Along with her coaching duties, Stephens also serves as the team's summer camp coordinator.

Prior to her coaching career, Stephens was a four-year athlete on the Thunderbird team. As a senior at SUU she totaled 186 kills to lead the team with a .267 hitting percentage. She also led the T-Birds with 111 blocks. Stephens was a major contributor for the Thunderbirds as a freshman appearing in 25 matches, and started in 25 her sophomore year.   

Stephens holds the SUU single match record after hitting .667 (13-1-18) against UALR.

Stephens is very familiar with the southern part of the state of Utah, as she competed for Desert Hills High School in St. George during her her high school years. Stephens is originally from Gilbert, Arizona.

Stephens is the daughter of Greg and Fay and is the youngest of 10 siblings. Stephens’ older sister, Julie, played basketball for SUU from 2005-07. She is married to Lloyd Stephens.
