CEDAR CITY, Utah, May 11 – The 2014 NCAA Softball Tournament groupings were announced Sunday with Southern Utah (22-29) being designated to the Los Angeles Regional. The Thunderbirds brought home the Big Sky Conference Tournament title on Saturday to earn their first appearance at the NCAA Regionals since 2007.
The group includes host No. 3 UCLA (48-6) of the PAC-12, Long Beach State (38-17) of the Big West and No. 20 Notre Dame (39-11) from the ACC.
SUU opens against the Bruins on Friday at 7:00 p.m. (MT) with all of Thunderbirds opening round games being broadcast on ESPN3.
