CEDAR CITY, Utah -- On January 20, the Thunderbird Athletic Department and the SUU men's basketball team will dedicate the jersey of former Thunderbird student-athlete Don Marshall by hosting a Jersey Dedication Ceremony at halftime of the game with Eastern Washington.
Marshall's No. 11 jersey will hang in the America First Event Center alongside Myndee Kay Larsen, whose jersey has also been updated. Â
While playing basketball for the Thunderbirds, Marshall received plenty of titles and recognition for his play. He was named to the ICAC All-Conference Team in 1951-52, as well as being named to the NJCAA Region IV All-Region and All-American team that same season.
In 1952-53 he was named to the ICAC All-Conference Team, marking back-to-back seasons he earned the title.
Marshall is also a member of the Southern Utah University Athletics Hall of Fame.
He will be honored posthumously, and his former wife will be in attendance in his place.
Southern Utah's contest with Eastern Washington on January 20 will tip off at 12:30 p.m. MT.
