OGDEN, Utah - The Southern Utah volleyball team wrapped up their road trip up I-15 Saturday afternoon with a 0-3 loss to Weber State.
The first two sets were close contests, but the Wildcats would be able to pick up the win in both. The Thunderbirds mounted a late rally in the first set, but ultimately fell short 19-25.
The second set was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams with Southern Utah getting as close as one point late in the set. They were able to win two of the final three points in the set, but the Wildcats would finish them off 25-23.
The Wildcats completed the sweep with a 25-15 win in the third and final set.
Janet Kalaniuvalu led all attackers with 15 kills in the match, increasing her season total to 337. Alexis Averett picked up 29 assists and Thea Leiataua lead the team with eight digs.
The Thunderbirds will return home Thursday October 25 to host the Portland State Vikings.
