Women’s XC Moves Up In National Rankings

CEDAR CITY, Utah -- The Southern Utah women's cross country team has moved up in national rankings after their performance at the Big Sky Championships. The women are currently ranked No. 22 according to USTFCAA polls.

The women recently broke into national rankings after their performance at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals where they finished eighth ahead of No. 20 Utah State and No. 28 Georgia.

The team most recently competed at the Big Sky Championships where they claimed the title for the first time in school history.

Angie Nickerson lead the team with a first place finish. Nickerson clocked in a time 16:30.26. Maddy Kauffman followed with a time of 16:47.0 landing a fourth place finish.

The Thunderbirds finished the race with four women claiming All-Conference status including Madison Fruchey and Alison Pray.

The women are set to compete at the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships on November 9 in Provo, Utah.
