BOZEMAN, Mont. -- After holding a lead at the break, the Thunderbird men's basketball team fell to the Montana State Bobcats on the road 90-83 to wrap up their road Big Sky slate.
The loss moves the Thunderbirds to 14-14 on the season, and 9-10 in Big Sky Conference play. SUU will have a chance to finish over .500 for the first time since 2006-07 on Thursday. Â
The Thunderbirds were able to control the pace of the first half, and led for the majority of the opening 20 minutes. The T-Birds took a 40-33 lead into halftime break.
In the second half the Bobcats used a 23-4 run to create separation from SUU after the Thunderbirds had built a nine point lead. MSU handed business down the stretch, eventually walking away with the victory.
"We didn't make the extra pass like we were on the offensive end, so we had quick misses and they turned those into points off defensive errors on our behalf," SUU head coach Todd Simon said about MSU's run. "They're a talented offensive team, so when they get going they can really shoot it."
MSU outscored SUU 57-43 in the second half.
Cameron Oluyitan finished with a career-high 22 points, shooting 10-of-17 from the field.
Jacob Calloway shot 8-of-11 and scored 17 points for the T-Birds. He also finished the night with a double-double, pulling in a career-high 14 points. Â
Dre Marin finished with 13 points and Brandon Better had 12.
Harald Frey had 32 points against the T-Birds.
The T-Birds will return home for their final regular season contest on Thursday when they play the Northern Colorado Bears.
