CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Monroe Walker has resigned as the head coach of Southern Utah's women's tennis team, effective immediately.

"Coach Walker led our team to a thrilling first-round victory at the Big Sky Tennis Championship Tournament, which was held in Phoenix, Arizona a couple of weeks ago," SUU Director of Athletics Debbie Corum said. "He is a great technique coach and I am sure that this ability will assist him as he continues his career. We wish him the best."

A national search for the next head women's tennis coach will begin immediately. No further comment on the position will be made until a new head coach has been hired.
