CEDAR CITY, Utah -- The Big Sky Conference released the results of their 2019 Preseason Volleyball Coaches' Poll on Friday morning. The Thunderbirds were tabbed 10th out of the 11 teams in the Big Sky Conference.
"This is interesting, but not something we are going to dwell on," SUU head coach Pete Hoyer said. "In four months no one will be talking about the Big Sky preseason poll. It is up to us to get a little bit better, every day, from now until November, and see where that takes us. We are really excited about the last six days, and what the rest of the journey will bring."
The T-Birds finished the 2018 season with a 6-24 overall record, and a 5-13 mark in the Big Sky Conference. Heading into the 2019 campaign the squad is re-tooled with a number of newcomers, and some solid veteran leadership.
Northern Arizona was selected as the preseason favorites in the Big Sky as the defending champions of the league.
