CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Southern Utah's Shannon Webb has been named Big Sky Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in the team's season opening tournament; the Utah State Invitational. 

Webb helped lead the Thunderbirds to their first 3-0 start since the 2015 season with victories over Xavier, Eastern Michigan University and Utah State University.

Webb tallied 18 kills against Xavier, 18 against Eastern Michigan and 21 more against Utah State. She also contributed 22 digs and five blocks over the course of the weekend. Upon tournament completion, Webb was named All-Tournament MVP. 

This is her first season competing for the Thunderbirds since transferring from American University. 

Southern Utah will host their first home tournament this weekend, taking on Saint Mary's, Middle Tennessee State and Boise State.
