CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Following recommendations from the Big Sky Conference, all athletic events at, or featuring, Southern Utah University have been suspended until further notice. This decision is effective immediately.   

Teams will still be permitted to practice, per the Big Sky's policy. All practices moving forward will be closed to the public.  

The NCAA announced earlier in the day on Thursday that all remaining National Championships have been canceled for the 2019-20 season. 

Southern Utah's aim is to protect the health and safety of the campus community, the Cedar City community, and every student-athlete competing as a Thunderbird. 

Southern Utah Athletics will continue to follow recommendations from the state of Utah, Southern Utah University, the Big Sky Conference and the NCAA.
