CEDAR CITY, Utah- Southern Utah Volleyball will set out this week for their final road trip of the 2021 season. SUU will travel to Idaho State for their Thursday matchup with the Bengals and to Ogden for a Saturday match against the Weber State Wildcats.

Last Time Out
SUU's Senior Night ended with a loss to Portland State in four sets while Stacey Hone set a season high of 19 kills on a .409 hitting percentage. The Thunderbirds battled early, stretching the first set all the way to a 29-27 score, and keeping the second set within five points until they dropped the set. They took the third set 25-19, but couldn't keep the momentum up as they lost in the fourth set 25-23.
Hone's 19 kills were the second highest total of her career, adding three blocks to record 20.5 total points in the contest. Senior Corrin Peterson also had a great night, posting a double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs to capitalize on Senior Night.

Stats and Standings
SUU will enter the road trip with a 2-12 Big Sky record and 6-20 overall. With their record, the Thunderbirds will miss their chance to play in the Big Sky Tournament. They will contend with Idaho and Idaho State for ninth place in the standings.
Southern Utah is third in the Big Sky in team blocks, averaging 2.28 per set with Raegan Ashby and Carissa Richie in the top eight individual block leaders. Ashby sits in third with 1.12 blocks per set, while Richie comes in sixth with 1.07 per set.

Scouting Report: Idaho State Bengals (6-20, 2-12 BSC)
The Bengals are on an 11-game losing streak with 10 of those losses coming at the hands of a sweep, including a loss to the Thunderbirds in their October 16 matchup. Hone led the game with nine kills and Ashby added eight of her own. SUU recorded a .253 hitting percentage as a team to go with 11 blocks.Â
Sadie Bluth will enter as the Bengals' top scorer with 221 kills on the season, 2.54 per set.Â

Scouting Report: Weber State Wildcats (16-8, 11-3 BSC)
Weber State is coming off of a loss in Greeley to Northern Colorado that took five sets to decide a winner. Dani Nay recorded 20 kills in the loss, the highest for either team in the contest.Â
The Wildcats took down SUU in their October matchup, three sets to none. Nay recorded 10 kills against the Thunderbirds.Â
Sam Schiess leads all of Big Sky in hitting percentage with a .324 mark on the season.

Match Day Information
The Thunderbirds' contest with the Bengals tips off at 7 p.m. MST on Thursday night from Pocatello. Saturday's matchup starts at 2 p.m. MST in Ogden against the Wildcats.
