Southern Utah University fell to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in four sets on Thursday night. The Thunderbirds lost the first two sets of the matchup before coming back to win Set 3 but couldn't finish the comeback. 

The Lumberjacks traded shots with the T-Birds in the first set with seven lead changes and nine ties during the set. After SUU tied it at 14, NAU took charge and stretched their lead up to six before SUU could score another point. Southern Utah crept back into the game but it wasn't enough as they lost the first set 19-25.

Ronnie Robinson opened up the scoring in the second set as SUU struck first, but the Lumberjacks kept the game close, with no more than a three point lead from either side until late in the matchup. NAU took a 7-3 run from a tie game to finish the set with a 25-21 score.

It was a tight third set as SUU looked to take their first set of the night. The Lumberjacks took an early 6-2 lead when SUU started to claw back into it before tying it 11-11. NAU took four points in a row before trading points with the T-Birds until another tie at 20 a piece. SUU took the set from there, winning the frame 25-23. 

SUU's momentum ran out in the fourth frame as NAU took control with an early 5-1 lead. SUU trailed by as much as 10 before the final points of the matchup when NAU won 25-15.

Stacey Hone led the Thunderbirds with 12 kills in the matchup. Hone earned a .320 hitting percentage while adding three blocks. Reagan Ashby  added seven kills for the Thunderbirds with Rylee Achtzehn adding six of her own. Carissa Richie posted five blocks in the contest. 

SUU returns home on Saturday for Senior Night in their final home matchup of the season. They will take on Portland State at 6:00 p.m. inside the America First Event Center.
