Jones, Singleton Named HERO Sports FCS All-Americans

CEDAR CITY, Utah – HERO Sports released its FCS All-American awards Tuesday morning, and Southern Utah's Braxton Jones and Kobe Singleton were honored for their accomplishments during the 2021 football season.

Jones received First Team honors while Singleton was named to the All-Freshman Team.

"Braxton and Kobe earned these All-American awards," said SUU interim head coach Ryan Hunt. "From the second Braxton stepped on campus, he has worked extremely hard and developed himself into an elite competitor. We look forward to his success at the next level. Kobe is a great example of how perseverance and hard work can help you accomplish your goals. Kobe is very talented and has a bright future in front of him."

Jones anchored the offensive line for SUU all season long, which led to awards other than his All-Conference honors. Jones recently accepted an invitation to compete in the Reese's Senior Bowl which highlights many of the elite NFL Draft prospects across the country. He was also named First Team All-Big Sky.

Singleton was a ballhawk for the Thunderbirds all season in the secondary, finishing the year with three interceptions. His first-career interception was in the season opener against San Jose State, and he returned it for a touchdown. Singleton also earned six pass breakups and made 22 tackles for the year. Singleton earned All-Big Sky Third Team honors.
