Thunderbird Football Announces Remainder Of 2021 Signing Class

CEDAR CITY, Utah -- The Thunderbird football program and head coach Demario Warren have announced the remainder of their 2021 signing class as part of National Signing Day.

February 3 marks the beginning of the regular signing period for football that extends through August. Southern Utah announced the majority of their class during the early signing period, which lasts from December 16-18.

Bodee Blackett, DB, 6-0, 195, Nephi, Utah (Juab High School)

Making a quick trip down I-15 to join the Thunderbirds, Bodee Blackett has signed to play for the Thunderbirds out of Juab High School in Nephi.

"We are excited to make Bodee a part of our family," Warren said. "He brings speed and toughness to our secondary and a passion for Southern Utah. I love his work ethic and mentality and believe he will do a great job for us."

Blackett was a two-time First Team All-State performer at cornerback, and also earned the distinction as a running back. Along with being an Academic All-State honoree, he was also named Region 14 Player of the Year and Mid-Utah Radio Defensive Player of the Year.

Jessie Campbell, WR, 6-2, 185, Chula Vista, California (Mater Dei Catholic High School)

Out of Mater Dei Catholic High School in California, the Thunderbirds have added Jessie Campbell to the roster moving forward.

"Jessie has the potential to make an immediate impact in our offense," Warren said. He has great length, explosiveness and body control. Jessie was one of our first offers and we were very disappointed when he committed to Army early. But when he opened his recruitment back up we had to find a way to get back in the picture. Jessie Campbell could be a name you hear in Cedar City for a long time."

Campbell was a three-star recruit according to 247Sports after averaging nearly 17 yards per catch as a junior. That season he also had nine touchdowns and was an All-League wide receiver.

Kam Cullimore, LB, 5-11, 220, Gilbert, Arizona (Highland High School)

Joining the Thunderbirds from Highland High School in Gilbert, Arizona, the Thunderbirds have added linebacker Kam Cullimore to the roster.

"Kam was one the leading tacklers in the state of Arizona," Warren said. "He has a nose for the football and we are glad he is going to join our family and his brother Kohner after he serves an LDS mission."

Cullimore helped lead his team to their first ever State Finals appearance as a First Team 6A All-Premier League selection. He was also honored with the title of WaFC Bank All-State. Cullimore led his team in tackles for two straight seasons with over 100 per year.

Wyatt Dawe, DL, 6-2, 280, Pleasant Grove, Utah (Pleasant Grove High School)

Moving from Utah County to Iron County, Wyatt Dawe will be joining the Thunderbirds from Pleasant Grove.

"Wyatt is going to be a beast after his mission," Warren said. "He reminds me a lot of our starting center, Cannan Yarro, in the way he approaches the game. He's a fantastic wrestler that plays with great leverage and technique. He is going to give you everything he's got, everyday and that's what I love most about him."

Dawe was an All-American candidate, along with being a member of the 6A All-State team. He was a four year varsity starter. Dawe also had a successful career in high school as a wrestler, as he was named to the Utah All-State Wrestling Team and was an All-State Match winner.

Braxton Hickman, DB, 6-3, 205, St. George, Utah (Snow Canyon High School)

Making the transition from St. George to Cedar City, Braxton Hickman has joined the Thunderbirds out of Snow Canyon High School.

"Braxton is a very versatile player," Warren said. "He was one of those guys you didn't know where he would end up playing in the future, but you really wanted him in the program because of how good of a player he was. I am excited about working with him this year."

Hickman was named Region 9 MVP during his tenure at Snow Canyon. He also earned the title of First Team All-Region while being a three year varsity starter. His senior campaign culminated with over 100 tackles and a Semifinal appearance in the Utah State Playoffs.

Trevor Moser, DE, 6-3, 260, Las Vegas, Nevada (Legacy High School)

Joining the Thunderbirds from Las Vegas, Southern Utah has added Trevor Moser to the fold on the defensive line.

"Trevor finishes off the incredible DL class this year," Warren said. "He will be a hard working, versatile defensive lineman that will fit in perfectly with our team. This DL class will be a force to be reckoned with."

Moser was named Second Team All-Conference on both the defensive and offensive lines, showing versatility on both sides of the football.

Kyle Sfarcioc, OL, 6-4, 295, Peoria, Arizona (Liberty High School)

Another future T-Bird from the state of Arizona, Kyle Sfarcioc will be heading to Cedar City from Liberty High School.

"We are fired up about Kyle joining the T-Bird family," Warren said. "He's a technician, a real student of his craft. He is bringing a great work ethic and toughness that fits perfectly with our offensive line."

Sfarcioc was a three-year starter for Liberty at left tackle where he was an All-State honoree. He was also named First Team 6A All-Desert Valley and helped lead his team to a state title as a junior.

Mason Thueson, TE, 6-6, 185, Roy, Utah (Roy High School)

Another future T-Bird staying in state to compete on the Division I level, Mason Thueson will be joining the Thunderbirds from Roy High School at tight end.

"Mason has a ton of potential after he returns from his LDS mission," Warren said. "He is very tall and athletic and is just coming into his own. He has the potential to grow into an all-conference tight end."

Thueson is an All-Region player out of Roy. He was a team captain and a 4.0 student-athlete. He is also a First Team All-Region basketball player. Along with being Academic All-State, he is an Eagle Scout and won his team' award for service and grades.

Keilen Washington, DB, 6-2, 180, St. George, Utah (Dixie High School)

Another future Thunderbird making their way up I-15 from St. George, Keilen Washingotn is set to join the Thunderbirds after playing for Dixie State School.

"Keilen reminds me of a young Miles Killebrew," Warren said. "Just like Miles did when he first got here, Keilen has a lot of work to do, but he has that same mindset and I believe he can get himself to that level if he stays committed to that process."

Washington was named a Blue-Grey All-American as a three year varsity started. He earned First Team All-State and All-Region honors during his time as a Flyer. He was also a state finalist in the 100-meter dash.
