CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah Athletics and Assistant Athletic Director for Academics Katie Evans would like to announce the hiring of Annie Longtain to fill the role of Athletic Academic Advisor & Student-Athlete Development Coordinator.
Longtain comes to Cedar City from Willamette University where she was an assistant lacrosse coach for three seasons with the Willamette Bearcats. During her time at WU, her responsibilities included scheduling, planning, and conducting practices, reviewing and evaluating all game film, supervising study hall, and scheduling weekly meetings to assist players in developing organization, study skills, and time management.
Longtain was also an advisor for Willamette's Student Athlete Advisory Committee where she created professional development events for student-athletes, coordinated community service opportunities for student-athletes, and founded a student-athlete well-being group after attending the APPLE institute with student-athletes.
Longtain attended the University of Oregon where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Public Policy & Management and was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team. During her time with the Ducks she was a member of the Oregon SAAC Executive Board where she developed and delivered the Women's Empowerment Symposium for female student-athletes to learn and network with professional females while preparing them for life after college athletics.
Longtain is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Athletic Leadership from Clemson University.
