Soccer Adds Transfers From Fresno State and Colorado to 2021 Roster

CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah soccer team and head coach Kai Edwards have announced the signing of Megan Short and Kylie Zentner ahead of the 2021 fall season.

Short is a goalkeeper from Mission Viejo, California who will be coming to Cedar City from the University of Colorado where she spent her first two seasons. Short redshirted her first season and started in one game last season where she recorded a shutout against Northern Colorado.

"Megan will be a great addition to an already competitive goalkeeping unit, her experience in the Pac-12 as well as high-level ECNL helps push everyone in the group in the right direction," assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Mario Felix-Suarez said.

She played high school soccer for Capistrano Valley High School where she was a two-time all-league selection. She also lettered in track & field and played club soccer for the SoCal Blues.

Zentner is a midfielder from Oakley, California who has made stops at Fresno State and San Joaquin Delta College before now coming to Southern Utah. She appeared in eight games for the Bulldogs in the spring, racking up 140 minutes of play.

"Kylie is a hard-working, experienced midfielder who adds a phenomenal training mentality as well as a competitive mindset during matches. She comes from a very blue-collar environment in California, which will add to the intensity in our training sessions and Big Sky competition," Felix-Suarez said.

At San Joaquin, Zentner helped Delta to a 23-1-2 record and an appearance in the 2019 CCCAA semifinals. She scored 16 goals and picked up eight assists in 44 career games.
