Men’s Basketball Announces Full 2021-22 Schedule

CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah men's basketball team and head coach Todd Simon have announced their full 2021-22 schedule, laying the groundwork as the team prepares to defend their Big Sky Regular Season Championship.

The Thunderbirds will open the 2021-22 campaign inside the America First Event Center against Bethesda University on November 9.

They will follow that up with a long road stretch, playing away from Cedar City for seven straight games starting with a trip to St. George to take on Dixie State on November 12. The T-Birds will then travel to St. Mary's for a game on November 15 before competing in the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off. They will start with a game against California on November 18 in Berkeley before going to Fort Myers, Florida for games against Yale and either Milwaukee or Bowling Green.

Southern Utah will open their Big Sky title defense run on December 2 against Eastern Washington in Cheney followed by a game against Idaho in Moscow on December 4.

The Thunderbirds will finally return home on December 8 as they continue non-conference play by hosting Utah Valley followed by Saint Katherine on December 11. The following week they will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on Big Ten opponent Michigan on December 18.

The T-Birds will then play five straight home games starting with Dixie State on December 22. They will then play Sacramento State on December 30, Northern Colorado on January 1, Portland State on January 6, and Northern Arizona on January 8.

Big Sky play continues with games against Montana (January 13) and Montana State (January 15) in Montana, Idaho State (January 22) and Weber State (January 24) in Cedar City, and Portland State (January 27) in Portland.

February basketball kicks off on the 3rd in Cedar City against Idaho followed by Eatern Washington on the 5th. The T-Birds will also take on Sacramento State, Northern Colorado, and Northern Arizona on the road and Montana State and Montana at home. The regular season will conclude with games against Idaho State and Weber State on the road.

The Big Sky Conference Championship Tournament is set to begin for the men's teams on March 9 in Boise, Idaho.
