STILLWATER, Okla. - The Southern Utah University Cross Country teams competed at the Weis Crockett Invitational (Pre-Nationals) on Saturday morning, as both the men's and women's teams had a strong showing as they continue to prepare for the Western Athletic Conference Championships.
Women's Recap
The women's team had an exceptional showing at the event, finishing 6th place overall in a field of 26 total teams that featured some of the top programs in the country.
Senior runner Madison DeBos led the way for the Thunderbirds, recording an impressive time of 21:29.0 to finish 27th overall in a field of 232 total runners.
Sariah Hernandez finished second in the SUU lineup and 43rd overall in the race after turning in a blazing time of 21:42.5.
Haley Tanne and Jordyn Bartolomucci came in next for Southern Utah, as Tanne finished in 59th place with a time of 21:54.5 and Bartolomucci took 64th on the leaderboard, recording a time of 22:00.0.
Quinn Hagerman rounded out the top-five for Southern Utah, taking 77th place overall with a time of 22:07.3.
Southern Utah totaled 252 points as a team, completing the event just two points outside of a top-five finish.
Men's Recap
The men's team also had an impressive showing, taking 10th overall in a field of 26 teams.
Isaiah Labra had a sensational outing, finishing in 17th place out of 241 total runners with a stellar time of 23:58.3.
Santiago Gaitan and Travis Feeny also had strong outings for the Thunderbirds, finishing 31st and 32nd overall, respectively. Gaitan clocked a time of 24:17.5 and Feeny recorded a time of 24:19.1.
Hayden Harward took fourth in the Thunderbird lineup, turning in a time of 25:10.4 to take 105th place, and Nathan Carlin rounded out the top-five SUU finishers for the event, clocking a time of 25:10.7 to finish 106th overall.
The T-Birds amassed 274 points for the event to record the top-10 finish.

Southern Utah Cross Country will now turn their attention to the Western Athletic Conference Championships, as they seek to compete for a conference title in their inaugural season as a member of the WAC. The conference championships are scheduled to take place Saturday, October 29 in Nacogdoches, Texas, as they will be hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
