Wilson and Pray Shatter School Records During Three Meet Weekend

CEDAR CITY, Utah-- The Southern Utah University Track and Field programs competed in three different meets this weekend and recorded a plethora of record-breaking performances to close their Indoor regular season.

Seniors Emily Wilson and Alison Pray highlighted the weekend by setting new school records in their respective events.

ISU MOUNTAIN STATE GAMES

Wilson broke the record in the triple jump during her opening leap Saturday, with a mark of 37'9.5". In her remaining jumps, she topped that mark two more times to finish with a 37'10.5" and a second-place finish. She followed up that performance by winning the long jump with a jump of 17'5.25".

Raquel Suarez also found her way into the SUU record books during the 3000 Meters. Suarez won the event at a time of 9:40:20 after converting down to altitude and moved into sixth all-time in the event for SUU.

In the women's heptathlon, Jentry Skidmore clawed her way to a third-place finish with a total of 3447 total points, placing her 2nd all-time in the SUU record books.

Chugg also battled to a fourth-place finish in the 400 Meters with a time of 51.47.

HUSKY CLASSIC

After breaking the school record in the women's mile just two weeks ago in Seattle, Alison Pray wrote her name into the history books once again, this time in the 3000 Meters. Pray cruised to a fifth-place finish in the event with a time of 9:02.46, destroying the previous record of 9:25.21. She is also ranked top 15 in the entire country in the event.

Several other T-Birds also grabbed impressive finishes in the 3000 Meter. Madisan DeBos and Haley Tanne ran to times of 9:44, while Aviry Stratton followed up close behind with a 9:48, placing all three of these ladies in the top 10 all-time for SUU.

For the men's team, Nate Osterstock continued his infamous ways. In the 3000 Meters, Osterstock blistered to 7th place with a time of 7:48.32, ranking him top 15 in the country in the event. Osterstock also continued to show his dominance in the mile, finishing in 6th place with a time of 3:59.38.
