OREM, Utah - The Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships rolled on with day two on Friday, May 10 for the Southern Utah University track & field program. The men's team picked up 21 points while the women's team claimed 10 points.

Men's Recap
With 36 total points, the men's team ended the day in third place, behind Grand Canyon and host school Utah Valley.
With a time of 8:57.83, Hayden Harward had a big day in the 3000m steeplechase, claiming second place and eight points for his team. Lanse Larsen was close behind in fifth place, taking home a 9:19.91 time and four points of his own.
Cedar English and Levi Smith each picked up big results in the long jump in fourth and eighth place with distances of 24'1.75" and 23'2" respectively. Both athletes also gave their team six combined points in the standings.
In the shot put, Victor Pampuch took seventh with a throw of 51'7.75", good for two points. Daniel Krynzel followed him up in eighth and a throw of 51'5.25", giving him another point for SUU.
Women's Recap
In fourth place, the women's team scored a combined 29.50 points, putting them behind UTRGV, Grand Canyon, and Utah Valley.
With a time of 11:10.48, Sariah Hernandez shined in the 3000m steeplechase with a sixth-place finish, also giving her three points.
Morgan Blackburn and Jay Hunt went back-to-back in the shot put, securing seventh and eighth place with marks of 40'1" and 38'6.25" respectively. The duo also gave the Thunderbirds three additional points.
In the Heptathlon, Melissa Crane finished up the two-day event in fifth place, securing 4399 points across all events, including taking second in the long jump with a distance of 17'7.5" and fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.02 seconds.
