CEDAR CITY, Utah– The Southern Utah University track and field team will travel up north for the second time in two weeks to battle in the BYU Robison Invitational on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23.

MOUNT SAC RELAYS
Senior Haley Tanne dominated in the 3k steeplechase, breaking the school record for the second time this outdoor season. Tanne broke the school record in the event two weeks ago at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 10:33.25 and responded this weekend with a 10:17.29 and a fourth-place finish.
After topping the school long jump record at the Weber State Classic last weekend, Elizabeth White followed up this weekend with a 12th place finish on a mark of 20 ½.
Joren McKeever finished in the top three for the third time this outdoor season. McKeever won and earned a new personal best at Weber State a week ago and followed up this weekend by leaping to a mark of 6'10 ¾ to claim third place in the meet.
Nate Osterstock recorded another impressive finish in this outdoor season after winning the 1500 Meter at Weber State. Osterstock claimed eighth place in the 5k with a time of 13:49.19.
BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
Veronika Vallova fought her way to another top finish in the javelin. Vallova launched a throw of 142'4 to claim second place in the entire event.
Two thunderbird women earned solid performances in the 3k Steeplechase. Sariah Hernandez ran a 10:57.14, ranking her eighth in the SUU record books. Kathryn Kelly blazed to a time of 11:01.22, topping her personal best time by 15 seconds.
Several other Southern Utah throwers also record top finishes. Senior Emma Nwachukwu found her way onto the podium once again. Nwachukwu clawed her way to a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a 188'4. Tia Dee Christiansen had a top finish in the discus, finishing 13th overall with a 134'3, and Jackalyn Hatch grabbed 25th in the javelin with a 112'6.
Camden Cox and Nethaneel Taylor posted personal bests in the 3k steeplechase. Cox ran a 9:18.86 in his debut in the race, while Taylor finished right behind with a 9:19.89 to shatter his previous personal best by nearly 12 seconds.
Payton Riggs earned a personal record of his own in the 800 Meter. Riggs clocked a time of 1:51.28 to win his heat.
In the 400 Meter Relay, Cameron Beans, Ricardo White, Nelson Douglas, Noah Bringhurst, and Dylan Gibson blistered to third place with a 41.37.
ATHLETES TO WATCH
Bronis MacDougall: Thrower
In his first outdoor season as a Thunderbird, MacDougall has compiled multiple top-three finishes in the javelin. His top finish came at the Utah State Invitational on April 10, where he launched a 183'9" and grabbed second place overall.
Ronnie Walker: Sprints
Walker has recorded several solid finishes in her last few competitions. At the Utah Spring Classic, she set personal records in the 100 and 200 Meters. She finished in fourth place in the 100 with a 12.22 and in fifth with a 25.58.
