CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah University volleyball team is set to host in-state rival Utah Tech on Saturday in their first home conference game. The match will be streaming on ESPN+ and live stats will be provided.

The Trailblazers have had a strong start to the season thus far, compiling a 6-4, 0-1 record. During non-conference play, Utah Tech showed they could perform in big moments, as three of their wins came in close five set battles. Their most recent outing was against Utah Valley, who only needed three sets to defeat the Trailblazers.

Whittnee Nihipali has been Utah Tech's most consistent scorer, averaging 3.38 points per set. Many other Trailblazers chip in on the offensive end. Chayse Daugherty adds 2.29 kills a set (87 on the year), and Taela Laufiso records 8.64 assists to help bolster the Trailblazers attack.

Utah Tech is coached by Camilla Hafoka, who is in her second season as head coach. Last year she led the program to a 7-15 overall record. This season, the Trailblazers have nearly matched their win total from last year midway through the year.

Southern Utah aims to earn their first win in conference play at home on Saturday.
