CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah University women's volleyball team will close Western Athletic Conference play on the road this week with a pair of matches. First, the Thunderbirds face Utah Valley on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. MT. Then, SUU will head to Seattle U to take on the Redhawks on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. MT.

TOP T-BIRDS

• The Thunderbirds rely on a balanced attack offensively, with Andrea Spasojevic (2.82), Hana Makonova (2.16), and Natasha Obradovic (2.06) each averaging over two kills each set.

• Teniyah Leuluai (6.54) and Allison Rohrer (4.11) share assisting duties, leading the team in assists per set.

• Spasojevic (3.21) and Arianna Rossi (3.16) bolster the defensive effort with over three digs each set.

• Makonova leads the team with 60 total blocks on the year.

LAST TIME OUT

Southern Utah vs. Utah Tech

Andrea Spasojevic led the Thunderbirds with five kills in the first period, but it wasn't enough as the Trailblazers narrowly took the set 26-24.

Three early kills from Hana Makonova sparked a 10-4 start for SUU in set two. Utah Tech rallied back to take a 21-20 advantage late in the set. Southern Utah responded, using a 5-1 run to claim set two 25-22.

Despite nine combined kills from Natasha Obradovic and Spasojevic, the Trailblazers were able to take the third set 25-19.

The fourth set was a tight affair. Utah Tech held a 19-18 advantage late in the period. However, the Thunderbirds were able to mount a 5-0 run to jump in front 23-19. Obradovic delivered the clinching kill for SUU, as the T-Birds seized set four 25-22.

Southern Utah came out hot in set five, jumping out to a 6-0 lead. Charlotte Wilson was electric in the set, recording five kills to power the Thunderbirds offense. SUU would emerge victorious, winning the set 15-9 and the match 3-2.

SCOUTING REPORT: UTAH VALLEY WOLVERINES

• The Wolverines own a 9-16 overall record with a 6-8 mark in Western Athletic Conference play.

• Avery Shewell leads the offense with 3.23 kills per set.

• Abbie Medeiros dishes out 5.42 assists per set.

• Defensively, Caleigh Vagana averages 1.39 blocks each set for UVU.

SCOUTING REPORT: SEATTLE U REDHAWKS

• Seattle U has compiled a 7-18 record with a 2-12 effort in WAC play.

• Arianna Bilby powers the Redhawks' offense with 3.49 kills each set.

• Elif Teksoy averages 8.85 assists a set.

• Katlyn Sipes hustles on the defensive end, racking up 3.27 digs per set.
