Jamie's coaching expertise, passion for the sport, and unwavering commitment to our athletes have been instrumental in our team's success. We have no doubt that in her new role, she will continue to inspire and lead our team to even greater heights."
Jamie Wysong began her journey with Southern Utah University's gymnastics program, serving as a videographer for the team but quickly moved up to the Director of Gymnastics Operations role after her first season. Over the next two years she became an integral part of the staff and recognizing her immense talent and dedication, she was subsequently promoted to the role of full-time Assistant Coach ahead of the 2016 season. Since then, she has become a major part of some of the most triumphant seasons in the program's history.
One of the defining moments of her coaching career came during the 2017 season when she mentored former Thunderbird Stacie Webb to achieve the first perfect 10.0 in program history on the balance beam. Wysong's ability to inspire and motivate her athletes has been a driving force behind the team's achievements and the individual successes of her gymnasts.
Her expertise and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as Jamie Wysong was named Assistant Coach of the Year in the North Central Region by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women at the conclusion of the 2017 season. In more recent news, Jamie Wysong was honored as the 2023 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Assistant Coach of the Year. Furthermore, the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) bestowed upon her the title of 2023 Co-Assistant Coach of the Year. These accolades recognize her exceptional coaching and leadership that have resulted in remarkable achievements for the team and individual gymnasts as well as her impact on the gymnastics community as a whole.

Wysong's expertise in coaching the floor team has been invaluable, leading them to the top spot in the conference in 2023. Her guidance and support were also crucial in helping Karley McClain, Aubri Schwartze, and Hailey Vultaggio achieve three of the top 4 rankings in the conference individually during the 2023 season. In addition, she played an instrumental role in coaching Kayla Pardue, Caitlin Kho, and Ellie Cacciola to achieve three of the top 7 highest rankings in the conference on Vault last year.
A testament to her commitment to both academics and athletics, Jamie Wysong graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Utah University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Communications with an emphasis on Media Studies. Her dedication to excellence is evident in all aspects of her life, and she continues to instill this spirit into her student-athletes.
Before joining Southern Utah University, Wysong showcased her coaching prowess at All American Gymnastics in Lindon, Utah, where she served as an Optional Team Coach and Lead Choreographer for 10 years. Her remarkable coaching abilities led to the success of 10 National Qualifiers, four National Champions, and numerous other Regional and State Champions under her guidance.
The Southern Utah Gymnastics program is delighted to have Jamie Wysong as the Associate Head Coach. Her wealth of experience, coaching prowess, and dedication to the success and development of the team and individual athletes make her a true asset to the program.
