CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah Softball is poised to make waves in the upcoming 2024 season. The Thunderbirds are gearing up for a rigorous lineup of tournaments and conference clashes, promising an exhilarating journey ahead on the diamond.

Preseason Matchups
The action commences at the Fullerton Easton Classic in California, where the Thunderbirds will face tough opponents like the University of Illinois-Chicago, the University of the Pacific, and Colorado State University. This early tournament presents a formidable challenge, setting the stage for an intense and competitive season for Southern Utah.
Following the Fullerton Classic, the team heads to the Torero Classic in San Diego, offering a chance to showcase their skills against teams like LIU, University of San Diego, and Eastern Illinois University. These matchups will provide valuable opportunities for the Thunderbirds to fine-tune their strategies and establish their dominance on the field.
The UNLV Classic in Las Vegas serves as another exciting segment in the Thunderbirds' schedule, featuring clashes against Santa Clara University, University of Tulsa, and UNLV. These games are poised to be important contests that could build the momentum for Southern Utah.
As the season progresses, Southern Utah will be engaged in a series of compelling matchups, including games with in-state opponents Utah State University at home on March 13 and on the road at the University of Utah on March 26. These games will allow the Thunderbirds to test the waters with some of the bigger schools in the area.
Conference Clashes
The Thunderbirds are set for intense home series' against conference rivals like Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian University, Seattle University, and Utah Valley University. These matchups will be pivotal as Southern Utah aims to find footing within the conference.
Southern Utah will have conference road matchups at Utah Tech, California Baptist, UT Arlington, Grand Canyon, and Tarleton State. The conference will wrap up on May 4 before the top teams meet in Seattle for the WAC Championship Tournament.
