CEDAR CITY, UTAH – Thunderbird Men's Basketball Head Coach Rob Jeter is excited to announce the signing of Hercy Miller. Miller is a 6'3 point guard from Los Angeles, California.
He joins the Thunderbird family from the University of Louisville, where he spent the last two seasons.
During the 2022-23 season, he played in 27 games for the Cardinals and was one of two players with a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. He scored a career-high 10 points with two three-pointers made in a game at Pitt and was named to the 22-23 ACC All-Academic Team.
In 2023-24, his season was cut short due to surgery to treat an ongoing hip injury. However, he played in 10 contests and started three of them.
Quotes from Rob Jeter
"We are incredibly excited to have Hercy join our program. He brings a lot of high-level experience and knows what it takes to win. He is a physical guard who will defend multiple positions. He is a great addition to a team that already has elevated goals."
In his senior year at Minnehaha Academy in Minnesota, he helped lead the team to a 20-1 record and the school's fourth straight 3A Minnesota State Championship. He scored a team-high 24 points while playing alongside Minnesota's Mr. Basketball, Chet Holmgren. ESPN Rankings rated Miller a three-star prospect his senior year.
