Box Score FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA -- Darya Mosallaei had a career day for the Thunderbirds and helped the team earn just their second result in the history of SUU Soccer at Northern Arizona with a 0-0 draw.
Head Coach Kai Edwards said
"Today is our first point on a Sunday this season. The team competed together and many players stepped up. We had four starters out today down the spine and others stepped up to earn a point on the road at a hard place to play. Being undefeated in four games versus the Big Sky this non-conference was good to see from the team.
We turn towards conference and everyone is 0-0-0"
Game Recap
It had been seven years since the Thunderbirds had last gotten a point at NAU, and it took some work to earn another one. Darya Mosallaei was excellent for the Thunderbirds, coming off with 10 saves for SUU.
Both teams had a few quality chances, with SUU's best chance coming on another set-piece from Chelsea Loeser, which was just tipped over the top of the net at the last second.
The Lumberjacks had 19 shots in total, 10 of which landed on target, but they were unable to get anything past Mosallaei.
Statistical Recap
Chelsea Loeser lead the Thunderbirds with two shots on goal, Angie Knies, and Jenna Grider also added a shot on goal.
The Thunderbirds were without Whitney Gardner, Rylan Tebbs, Steph Roper, and Chiaki Takase.
SUU closes non-conference play with a 2-5-3 record.
