CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Men's Golf team is heading to California for their final tournament of the fall season, the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational.

Head Coach Richard Church said

"It's the final tournament of the fall and another good golf course and tough field. Our top four have been consistent for us this year, just need to put together three rounds of quality play."

Where: The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California

The T-Birds fired a season-low nine-under-par 275 as a team in round two of the SIUE Dolenc Invitational last time out, which helped them to a 13th-place finish, closing the event with a three-round total of 859 (295-275-289).

Charlie Gillespie led the Thunderbirds with a strong bounce back after a tough opening round, finishing tied for 38th at +1. Gillespie's second-round 66 (-5) was the team's lowest score of the week and the lowest score of his collegiate career. He capped his tournament with a final round one-under-par 70.

Uy Doan and Jing-Cheng (Jarell) Wang each turned in consistent performances to tie for 43rd at +2. Doan carded rounds of 73, 69, and 73, while Wang opened with a 72 before adding a second-round 68.

Braylon Bingham followed closely behind, tying for 51st at +3. He played steady golf throughout with rounds of 73, 72, and 71.

Doan currently leads the team with a 71.3 stroke average through nine rounds, including six rounds of even par or better. Wang isn't far behind him with a 72.3 season stroke average.
